Govt desired opposition's presence today in NA: Pervez Rashid
The government is ready to consider the demands set by the opposition, says Rashid
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Information Minister Pervez Rashid on Tuesday has said that the government desired opposition’s presence today to discuss measures to be taken against deadly heat wave in Karachi.
He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the National Assembly (NA) session in the capital.
He said that the government is ready to consider the demands put forth by the opposition. The government wished that opposition was present in the session, he added. Rashid said that the government always appreciates opposition’s efforts.
The federal minister also said that there must be a misunderstanding that lead opposition to not attend today’s session.
Earlier, the opposition in the NA had announced a boycott because of the deaths in Karachi and countrywide unscheduled power outages in Ramzan during Sehri and Iftaar timings despite Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif s assurance.
During the session, Jamshed Dasti tore his copy of agenda and threw it in front of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s rostrum.
