Storm 'Ashobhaa' shifts away from Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Another sea storm named ‘Ashobhaa’ has shifted away from Karachi and has changed its direction towards Oman, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.

Meteorology Department is keeping an eye on the storm that is advancing with a speed of 10 km per hour. The center of the storm is in the south east of Arabian Sea, while the direction of the storm is towards north and west.

As per details, 13 to 14 feet high tidal waves are likely to hit the Karachi coast whereas the air speed is likely to go up to at least 55 nautical per mile.

Meteorology Office has asked people to take protective measures in order to deal with expected weather conditions as intense rains have been reported. 

The city administration of Karachi has stopped fishermen from going far in the sea while an alert notice have been issued to the related departments.
