Shutter down in Kamoke to mourn PML-N MPA's killing
The funeral prayer of the deceased has been offered in Wakeel Khan Stadium.
KAMOKE (Dunya News) – A mourning atmosphere is being witnessed today (Monday) in Kamoke over the murder of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Shamshad alongwith his son and acquaintance, Dunya News reported.
Educational institutions, business centers, markets, local industries and power looms have been shut down whereas the roads are also completely vacant.
The funeral prayer of the deceased have been offered in Wakeel Khan Stadium which was attended by a large number of people including Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal Ahmad Khan and all the MNA’s and MPA’s of Gujranwala division.
Heavy contingent of police was deployed in the area on this occasion.
A day before, Chaudhry Shamshad, his son and accomplice were assassinated in a firing attack in Kamoke town of Punjab.
According to initial reports, Khan and his son came under firing attack from unidentified gunmen who ran away after the attack whereas his nephew Ali Wakeel Khan was severely injured who was shifted to hospital in critical condition
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of the attack ordered inquiry.
Shamshad had contested and won the MPA seat from PP-100 constituency.
