Multan: PTI accepts defeat in PP-196 by-poll

MULTAN: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has on Thursday accepted the defeat in Multan’s by-election in PP-196. Vice Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi congratulated the winning candidate of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, reported Dunya News.
Talking to media at his residence, Shah Mehmood has said that he accepts the defeat with an open heart and congratulates PML-N over the victory. “However, I don’t congratulate Javed Hashmi because he is not a part of PML-N”, he added.
Vice Chairman PTI said that the government’s candidate gets the support of government machinery in by-elections so this result does not mean that PTI has lost popularity.
Responding to a question regarding judicial commission, Shah Mehmood said that the commission’s proceeding were still underway. “I can’t predict the decision of the judicial commission but if the elections are held again, PTI is ready”, he said.
