Judicial Commission directs PML-N to submit list of witnesses by Monday

Justice Nasirul Mulk directed the PML-N to submit list of witnesses by Monday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Judicial Commission headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk today (Thursday) directed the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) to submit a list of witnesses by Monday.

During the proceedings, former provincial election commissioner Mehboob Anwar recorded his statement before the commission. He was cross-examined by PTI counsel Abdul Hafeez Pirazada.

Mehboob Anwar stated that printing of election material could not complete by May 5th, 2015 and usually the material reaches polling stations two or three days before the election.

He said it is correct that the election commission could not fulfill the task within given timeframe.

To a question regarding printing of additional ballot papers, Mehboob Anwar said extra ballot papers were printed and the concerned authorities were apprised about it but no approval was sought in this regard.

After completion of Anwar’s cross-examination, Justice Nasirul Mulk directed the PML-N to submit list of witnesses by Monday. He said the commission will hold the proceedings all the day to record statements of the witnesses.

The commission has adjourned the proceedings till Friday.
