Power shortfall reaches to 4800 MW
The electricity demand is 15,400 MW whereas the production is 10,600 MW.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Power shortfall has reached 4800 megawatt (MW) with unannounced loadshedding in urban areas due to increased pressure on the system, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
According to NTDC sources, the electricity demand is 15,400 MW whereas the production is 10,600 MW.
Besides this, urban areas are facing nine hours and rural areas 12 hours of loadshedding.
Sources say that power demand is gradually increasing due to warm weather whereas water outflow has not grown in big dams as a result of which hydroelectric production is not being raised.
Moreover, hydroelectric sources are generating power half of their capacity due to which loadshedding duration is not being minimized.
