Former SSP Nekokara submits appeal to PM against dismissal
SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara was held guilty in the inquiry held by IG Baluchistan Muhammad Amlish.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former SSP Muhammad Ali Nekokara has submitted an appeal to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif against his dismissal before going to the tribunal and the Supreme Court as per rules.
Former senior superintendent of Islamabad Police Operations was removed from service, based on the recommendations of an inquiry into his conduct during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) sit-ins last year.
The inquiry was held by IG Balochistan Muhammad Amlish.
Nekokara was suspended in September last year after refusing to use force to keep the charging PTI and PAT protestors away from key government buildings at the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.
"I have denied all charges and questioned the fairness of the proceedings," Mr Nekokara told Dunya News.
According to Daily Dunya sources, the police officers in Punjab are highly upset over inquiry’s decision. Officers said that Amlish held Nekokara guilty only to get closer to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and become IG Punjab.
A PSP officer told Daily Dunya on the condition of anonymity that if some officer appears before Muhammad Amlish and asks for his help, the IG Balochistan tells him that he would not help him unless CM Punjab requests him to.
It is pertinent to mention here that a delegation of PSP officers also met Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah for Muhammad Ali Nekokara’s restoration.
