LHC to hear Zardari's appeal to withdraw case of drug dealing
Zardari submitted application in 1998, in which he requested LHC to withdraw case of drug dealing
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) approved Asif Ali Zardari’s application to hear his appeal for the withdrawal of a case of drug dealing against him on Wednesday in Lahore.
LHC decided to hear Zardari’s appeal after 17 years. Former president Asif Ali Zardari submitted the application in 1998, in which he requested the LHC to withdraw a case of drug dealing registered against him in Qilla Gujjar Singh police station. He stated in the application that the case is baseless and there is no reality in it.
2-member bench of LHC consisting of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Waqas heard the application after 17 years but due to absence of Asif Ali zardari’s lawyer, the hearing was postponed till 17 May.
