MQM chief says he was hiding bitter facts for now but will reveal when time is appropriate

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has on Thursday said that the establishment knows that he would never bow before anyone. He said that he was hiding bitter facts for now but would reveal them when he found the time appropriate.

Talking to Moeed Pirzada on Dunya News program ‘Siasat Hai Ya Sazish’, Altaf Hussain said that the establishment was angry with him for being brave. “I went to jails thrice and faced three dictators”, he said. He said that all the allegations against him were baseless. “I was punished for mistakes that I did not even make”, he said. He said that he went to jail when he was a university student. “I was accused of having lowered Pakistan flag by climbing on to a pole during university days”, he said.

Responding to a question, Altaf Hussain said that he didn’t know the people who had set PTI’s flags on fire in Karimabad earlier today. “When situation went wrong in Karimabad, I sent MQM leaders there to tell the MQM workers to move away from the scene”, he said.

Altaf Hussain said that Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad had nothing to do with MQM since 2002 because when a person becomes governor, he breaks off from his party. He said that MQM workers were being arrested in the name of operation against criminal elements in Karachi. “We kept informing the governor but he didn’t listen to our pleas”, he added.

MQM chief said that all the cases against him were baseless. He answered one question by Moeed Pirzada saying that polling ratios always remain low in by-polls.
