The federal minister briefed the media on various projects being installed with China's cooperation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday said that Pakistan-China friendship is everlasting and China wants to see Pakistan to stand on its own feet. He said every Pakistani is excited for Chinese president’s arrival.

Talking to the media, Ahsan Iqbal said that the journey of Pak-China friendship has advanced in every era and every government tried to further ties.

He said all Pakistani governments have agreed to stabilize relations with China but Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave a whole new angle to the friendship.

Ahsan Iqbal said the government is transforming Pak-China friendship into a strong partnership. He said Pakistan will curb energy crisis with China’s help, adding that coal energy projects to generate up to 6000 megawatts of electricity will be deployed.

The federal minister said that other energy projects will be from all sources including coal, water, solar and wind. He said these projects will help fulfill Pakistan’s energy needs.

He said the projects will begin in next three to four years. He said that attention is also being given to the Karakorum Highway project, adding that its upgradation will be completed in two stages.

Ahsan Iqbal said that projects to increase functioning capacity of Gwadar port will also be initiated whereas the process on industrial cooperation projects is also ongoing.

He said that Pak-China economic corridor is not just a road but the vision of Silk Route will start a new dimension to the friendship between both countries.
