Jamaatul Ahrar common for Wagah, Police Lines, church attacks: IG Punjab
The public opinion regarding negligence on police's part is wrong, says Mushtaq Sukhera
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Inspector General (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera on Sunday has said that the responsibility of the Wagah Border, Police Lines and Youhanabad bombings has been claimed by Jamaatul Ahrar, sub-group of banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He expressed these views while talking to the media in General Hospital while paying visit to the people injured in Youhanabad bombings.
He said that the public opinion regarding negligence on police’s part is wrong. Sukhera said that the police officers stopped the suicide bombers from entering into the churches. Had the suicide bombers entered the churches, they would have caused a lot more damage, he added.
He said that there is a similarity among Wagah Border, Police Lines and Youhanabad attacks. The responsibility for all the terror attacks has been claimed by banned organisation TTP’s Jamaatul Ahrar group.
