Flight bound for Lahore from UAE struck by lightning

Flight was struck in midair by thunderbolt causing aircraft's aeronautical system to malfunction.

BAHRAIN (Dunya news) – A private airlines flight bound for Lahore from United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday was struck in midair by lightning. The private airline’s flight 766 was carrying 241 Pakistani passengers. No passenger was hurt however by the strike and no injuries were sustained. The aircraft was immediately landed at the New Delhi airport as it sustained serious damages by the lightning bolt.

According to the Dunya News sources, the flight was struck in midair by the thunderbolt which caused the aircraft s aeronautical system to malfunction.

Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has taken immediate notice of the incident and has ordered a special flight to be sent to New Delhi for the return of Pakistani passengers. The PM has ordered that all facilities be provided to the passengers and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft be sent for the passengers return.

According to the sources, passengers have been sitting in the lightning struck aircraft for the past 10 hours.
