Youm-e-Takbeer is being observed today to mark 12th anniversary since Pakistan fist conducted nuclear tests on the same date May 28, 2010. Pakistan had conducted nuclear tests at Chaghi, Balochistan in response to five nuclear explosions conducted by India, to become the seventh country in the world to possess nuclear weapons. The day is being celebrated across the country with a solemn pledge to make Pakistan a stronger country, militarily and economically.In Multan, the jubilant PML-N members cut cakes to mark the day with renewed pledges to make the country stronger against odds. To mark the day, various political parties and social organizations have chalked out a number of comprehensive programmes in different parts of the country. In his special message, the PM said that the nuclear tests were being conducted fore regional leverage and protect countrys solidarity and sovereignty. He said the atomic programme was initiated by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto because he was aware of the future requirements. He said Pakistans nuclear programme is meant for peace and regional leverage. He said that atomic arms protection is governments top priority.
