Zardari telephones Altaf, discusses upcoming Senate elections
The two leaders would soon initiate talks regarding Senate elections in detail.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Friday night called on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain to discuss the ongoing Sindh situation, development projects and Senate elections.
It must be noted here that both the leaders talked to each other after a long time whereas the discussion went on in a pleasant mood.
According to the details, both the leaders talked about the political affairs, Sindh development projects and Senate elections scheduled on March 3.
As per MQM’s statement, an exchange of views on the elimination of past misconceptions, injustices and other problems was taken place between Zardari and Altaf Hussain.
On this occasion, former president Asif Ali Zardari showed solidarity with Urdu-speaking people and stated that the Urdu-speaking people have as much right over Sindh as Sindhi-speaking people.
If both parties decide to move by holding hands then the work on 40/60 agreements would be done honestly, he added.
The two leaders would soon initiate talks regarding Senate election in detail.
On the other hand, Rahman Malik also met Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad to discuss the matter of Senate elections.
While talking to media after the meeting, Rahman Malik assured that efforts are being made to include MQM in the present government.
He further lauded the struggles of Asif Ali Zardari for playing his positive role in the deteriorated political situation.
Moreover, political parties, under their leadership are gearing up for the upcoming Senate elections.
