ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – On the occasion of Kashmir day that is being observed today (Thursday), Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif stated that the so-called elections cannot be a substitute for Kashmiris’ right of self-determination.

PM Nawaz assured the support of Pakistan with Kashmiris and vowed to continue the struggle to resolve the Kashmir dispute.
One day Kashmiris will get freedom by achieving their destiny, PM Nawaz added.

On the other hand, President Mamnoon Hussain lauded the sacrifices of Kashmiris and urged the international community to play its role while resolving the Kashmir issue.

He stated that Kashmiris are continuously struggling for their rights and self-determination.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif expressed solidarity and unity with Kashmiris and pronounced that people of Kashmir are tolerating brutal violence of India and said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has always taken the Kashimir issue to the national and international forums.

Moreover, CM Punjab denounced the Indian rough treatment with the Kashmiris.

Earlier, National Assembly (NA) unanimously approved Kashmir resolution while showing solidarity with the determination of Kashmiris whereas the members of NA also condemned the injustice of Indian government that is being continued in the region, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

As per details, the session of NA headed by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq is underway in NA, Islamabad.

During the session, Chief of Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) and Chairman of Kashmir Committee Moulana Fazlur Rehman presented a resolution stating that the chamber appreciates the long lasting sacrifices of Kashmiris by denouncing the brutal violence of India.

Showing harmony with the Kashmiris, the resolution demanded the United Nations (UN) to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The resolution further continued to pay tribute to the bravery of Kashmiris and deprecated the unprovoked firing of Indian force at Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary. It also called on the international community to play their positive role for the solution of Kashmir dispute and human rights violation.

Moreover, the chamber reiterated its consistent support and urged the UN to give voting right to the Kashmiris so that they would be able to elect their own leaders.
