After Punjab, anti-terrorism force to be established in Sindh also

A strategy to implement National Action Plan (NAP) was decided upon in the meeting.

KARACHI (Dunya news) – The Sindh Apex Committee on Monday passed a decision to establish an anti-terrorism force in Sindh, after a similar decison was taken in Punjab previously. It was also decided that Karachi operation will be advanced into interior Sindh as well.


The decision was made during a meeting of Sindh Apex Committee held in Chief Minister (CM) house.


Accroding to the details, the meeting was presided by Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad and CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah. The meeting was attended by Core Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, District General (DG) Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar, the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Inspector General (IG) Sindh along with other officials.


A strategy to implement National Action Plan (NAP) was decided upon in the meeting. It was decided that Sindh is to be split in to 3 security zones of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. Hyderabad operation will be monitored by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Hyderabad. Operation in Sukkur will be monitored by GOC Pano Akil.


One thousand personnel will be given training by army officers for the anti-terrorism task force to be established in Sindh. A decision to pass 57 cases to be carried out in anti-terrorism court (ATC) was also made in the meeting. A strategy to take action against unregistered religious schools was also set in the meeting.
