Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi to appear before judicial magistrate today
Lakhvi's will appear in district court after his two-day physical remand ended.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Mumbai attacks suspect Zakiur Rehman Lahkvi will appear before a judicial magistrate today (Thursday) after his two-day physical remand ended in a kidnapping case, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, police would request court extend remand of the accused by another five days as investigation process has not been completed yet.
Heavy police contingent has been deployed at district court ahead of Lakhvi’s arrival.
On Tuesday, he was set to walk out of jail after the Islamabad high court on Monday suspended his detention under a strict public safety law, finding no fault in the bail that an anti-terrorism court granted him 12 days ago.
Lakhvi was rearrested on a complaint filed by a person who accused him of involvement in kidnapping of his brother-in-law some six and a half years ago.
