Pakistan successfully tests ballistic missile Shaheen 1A (Hatf IV)

The missile can carry conventional and nuclear weaponry to a radius of 900 kilometers.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan today conducted a successful test launch of Intermediate Range Shaheen 1A (Hatf IV) Ballistic Missile. The successful launch was aimed at re-validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system. Shaheen1A Missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 900 Kms.

Today’s launch, with impact point in Arabian Sea, was witnessed by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Lieutenant General Obaid Ullah Khan,Vice Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi, Commander Pakistan Fleet, Chairman NESCOM, Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney, senior officers from the strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, congratulated the scientists and engineers for their dedication, professionalism and commitment towards achieving Pakistan s Full Spectrum Credible Minimum Deterrence Capability. Shaheen-1A with its highly accurate and indigenously developed guidance system is amongst the most accurate Missile System. He reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peaceful co-existence in the region. He appreciated the professional attributes of all concerned towards accomplishment of the sacred mission. He showed his full confidence over the Pakistan Armed Forces’ capability to safeguard security of the Mother Land against any aggression.

The successful test launch has also been warmly appreciated by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan who congratulated the participating troops, the scientists and engineers on their outstanding achievement.


Shaheen-II (Hatf-VI) Ballistic Missile


Pakistan successfully tested Shaheen-II (Hatf-VI) Ballistic Missile on November 13. Shaheen-II Missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 1500 kilometers.

The test launch was witnessed by Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command, Lieutenant General Obaid Ullah Khan, Chairman NESCOM, Muhammad Irfan Burney, senior officers from the strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

Pakistan has previously test-fired the same type of missile. Pakistan became a declared nuclear power in 1998, when it conducted underground nuclear tests in response to those carried out by India.

Addressing the troops and scientists at the launch area, the Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, congratulated them on achieving yet another milestone towards consolidation of full spectrum credible minimum deterrence.

He appreciated the operational preparedness and readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command, which made the successful launch of Shaheen-II Weapon System possible. He showed his full confidence in the existing robust Strategic Command and Control System.

Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood reiterated that Pakistan is a peace loving nation having no aggressive designs against any one. Pakistan s Strategic Forces are fully capable of safeguarding security of the Mother Land against any aggression.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also appreciated the successful test launch of the Shaheen-II missile.
