Total number of polio cases in Pakistan this year has reached 222, according to health department

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Two more polio cases have surfaced in Pakistan, reported Dunya News. Sources in National Health Institute told Dunya News that 10-month-old Faheemullah has been diagnosed with polio virus in village Kagawala Town – 4 of Peshawar. The other case has surfaced in Gagrina area of Khyber Agency where 10-month-old Saima has been diagnosed with polio virus.

Both the kids never received anti-polio vaccine. According to National Health Institute, the number of polio case in 2014 has now reached 222. Out of these 222, 144 have been reported from FATA, 45 from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP), 23 from Sindh, 3 from Punjab and 7 from Baluchistan.
