Protests against load shedding continue, No promises for 3 years: DG PEPCO
Long hours of non-stop load shedding continue in urban and rural areas of the country due to the increase in shortfall of electricity, exceeding 5000 megawatts; where as on the other side, the citizens of Lahore continue to stage protests on the second day against the load shedding. The protestors blocked the roads by burning tires and a procession was also taken out on Bund Road, Lahore. The citizens of Lahore belonging to areas such as Bund Road, Mall Road, Bhaati Gate, Ravi Road and Jane Mandir came out on roads due to the massive increase in load shedding, which is of about 12 to 15 hours. The protestors were holding placards and banners which displayed slogans against WAPDA. Protestors also blocked roads by burning tires due to which roads were blocked causing traffic jams and inconvenience for the citizens. DG PEPCO consoles again by saying that load shedding will end by 15th April. Although no promises can be made for ending of load shedding for next three years.
