Peshawar: Violent clash between students over 'go Nawaz go' slogan injures 1
The clash took place between two student bodies that resorted to violence.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A student was injured as result of firing when clash between two student bodies over ‘go Nawaz go’ slogan turned violent, Dunya News reported.
The repeated cases of backlash over the ‘go Nawaz go’ chant especially after the Wazirabad incident – where PML-N MPA Taufeeq Butt beat the protesters chanting the slogan – show that the trend is turning violent.
The latest episode of the series was seen in Peshawar where a clash between two student bodies over the slogan turned violent.
According to the details, a member of a student body raised the ‘go Nawaz go’ slogan in a classroom at Islamia College University in Peshawar which provoked the rival student group. The clash turned violent as a student identified as Shahab was injured.
In another incident, hundreds of flood affected people chanted ‘go Nawaz go’ slogan in Jhang when the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif visited the flood affected camps to distribute the cheques of relief amount.
CM Punjab had to shorten his address and the protestors continued raising the slogan even after Shahbaz Sharif left the venue.
