Intelligence alerts of Al-Qaeda's possible attack on US Consulate Karachi
The security personnel dressed in plain clothes will be deployed outside the consulates.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The intelligence agencies on Tuesday alerted the Inspector General (IG) Sindh and Director General (DG) Rangers of a possible terrorist attack by Al-Qaeda on American Consulate General Karachi, Dunya News reported.
According to the sources, the intelligence agencies issued an alert that Al-Qaeda could target the consulates of friendly countries including the US Consulate General Karachi.
The National Security Institute has already written to the IG Sindh and DG Rangers.
The sources further revealed that the provincial Home Department has already ordered to tighten the security around the US Consulate among other consulates and to increase security intelligence network. As a result, the entry and exit pathways to US Consulate Karachi have been closed.
