PTI rejects immediate negotiations with govt: Shah Mehmood Qureshi
He said that PTI does not believe in policy of storming any institution.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Wednesday that the first condition towards negotiation with the government is Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the media, Qureshi said that PTI leadership is political and that political people hold negotiations. He said PTI was ready for meaningful negotiations even yesterday and is ready today but a few of the government representatives are responsible for this situation.
PTI vice chairman said that PTI core committee has formulated six demands, adding that whenever the negotiations take place, they will be based on these points only.
He said that the first condition towards negotiation is Prime Minister’s resignation, therefore the process can only move forward after Nawaz Sharif’s resignation.
Qureshi said that PTI does not believe in policy of storming any institution, adding that respecting institution is a duty of every Pakistani.
He appealed the PTI workers to remain where they are and to not to enter the Prime Minister House. He said he will also contact Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and ask him to advice his workers of patience.
Meanwhile, PTI’s senior leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that the demand of Prime Minister’s resignation is not unconstitutional, adding that government’s one-year performance has created problems. He said he accepts the supremacy of the constitution and parliament and that staging sit-in is not a wrong act.
