ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has decided to take legal action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

The decision was taken after Imran Khan levelled allegations of rigging general elections against him.

The counsels for Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will announce the future course of action today.

Imran Khan had been accusing ex-CJP for his involvement in the rigging of May 11 general elections. The cricketer-turned politician had been reiterating that Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was involved in match fixing of May 11.

The footages and other relevant material have been obtained by the counsel team of former chief justice in this regard.

Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry retired from the post in December last year.

On the other hand, Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Iftikhar Chaudhry is also filing a reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief.

Arsalan had claimed that Imran Khan doesn’t fulfil the qualifications specified in Article 62, 63 of the constitution to contest elections, adding that he is neither Saadiq (honest) nor Amin (righteous).

Arsalan had also received Imran Khan’s nomination papers from the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Arsalan remarked that Imran Khan has not mentioned his eldest daughter in his nomination papers. He wrote a letter to religious scholars to seek an answer over Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan’s eligibility under Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution. The letter addressing Chairman Islamic Ideology Council and 36 Islamic scholars belonging to all sects requests advice about Imran Khan.

The letter says that Imran Khan has had relations with an American woman in the past and the relationship resulted in a child out of wedlock, named as Tyrian White. The letter further mentions that Imran Khan has never denied having relations with the lady nor has he denied the child. American courts have already decided the case against Imran Khan.
The letter requests advice of the religious scholars about the matter. It asks if Imran Khan’s action qualifies as an ‘immoral act’.
