LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique appealed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to change the date and venue of its long march protest scheduled for August 14, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the media at Lahore press club, he said the government wants to resolve the issues with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri, claiming that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Sheikh Rasheed come in the way.
Saad Rafique said that Imran Khan should not divide the nation by turning the Independence Day into the day of protest. He said the whole nation should unite under one flag on August 14 to send a message to the nation.
He said the living nations don’t indulge in confrontations like this, adding that Imran Khan should try to solve the issues in parliament, adding that the country is in state of war. He said the time now is not to pull legs of the government.
He urged Imran Khan to change the date, adding that PMLN wants to settle things with Tahirul Qadri as well.
Federal minister said that former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s statement over Pervez Musharraf became the cause of humiliation for his party.
