MQM kept from national politics through hurdles: Altaf
Says the MQM wants to make Pakistan a liberal, progressive and tolerant country.
LONDON (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that MQM made every possible effort to become a truly national party despite many hurdles that were put in its way.
In an interview to an international magazine, Altaf Hussain said that the MQM wants to make Pakistan a liberal, progressive and tolerant country. He said that MQM was being barred to play its role at national level because there was no feudal in the party.
Earlier, talking to newsmen at Karachi Press club, MQM’s coordination committee member Dr Farooq Sattar said that interviewing party chief Altaf Hussain by an international magazine was expression of confidence in his ideology and leadership.
He said that the MQM chief in his interview exposed the politics of the country that was based on corruption and vested interest instead of ideology.
Sattar said that the MQM chief in his interview discussed in detail that the country from its inception has suffered under an archaic, mediaeval political system controlled by feudal lords, tribal chiefs, and privileged elite.
Altaf Hussain said that only two percent privileged class has always put hurdles in the way of MQM to become a true national party.
He said these conspiracies had been hatched against the MQM to halt it from making Pakistan a real democratic and prosperous country.
