Judges appointment: Govt likely to withdraw presidential notification
The impasse between the government and judiciary is expected to end, as the presidential notification on judges appointment is likely to be withdrawn today.Source told Dunya TV that the government has planned to address the judiciary crisis and thereby the presidential notification regarding appointment of Justice Khawaja as Supreme Court judge and Justice Saqib Nisar as acting CJ LHC would be withdrawn.The government would also enhance consultation vis--vis judges appointment with the Chief Justice, sources said.The sources added that back-channel interaction was on for the last two to three days in which Aitzaz Ahsan played a role of a mediator. Aitzaz to meet President todayBarrister Aitzaz Ahsan is going to meet the President today.Aitzaz, while talking to media, said the prevailing crisis would be taken up during the meeting, however, refused to give any details in this connection.He said that he is going to give his stance to the President on the issue, adding that he would made the talk public, if he felt the need to do so.
