Partial shutter-down strike in Sindh against JSQM leader killing
Business outlets, petrol pumps and CNG stations were seen shut in several districts of Sindh.
JAMSHORO (Web Desk) – Strike is being observed in different districts of Sindh including Jamshoro against the killing of Jaey Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) central leader Maqsood Qureshi, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
According to details, thin traffic was reported on even main roads of the district Jamshoro. The shutter-down strike is being observed in Jamshoro, Kotri, Manjhand, BHan, Saeedabad and other adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, all public institutions were reportedly closed while papers in Liaqat Medical University, Sindh University and Mehran University scheduled for today were also postponed. Business outlets, petrol pumps and CNG stations were seen shut.
Meanwhile, strict security measures are taken to avoid any untoward situations, the Rangers and police are patrolling the streets.
JSQM leader Maqsood Qureshi and his associate Salman Wadood were found dead in a burned car on Friday. Tension gripped the area after the burnt vehicle was discovered with two charred bodies on Bhiria road near Naushahro Feroze.
Following the news, armed men took to the streets and resorted to aerial firing, forcing closure of business activities in different areas of interior Sindh.
JSQM workers protested in different areas including Hyderabad, Larkana, Khairpur and other small districts of the province.
Maqsood Qureshi was brother of late JSQM chief Bashir Qureshi who died in Sakrand, Nawabshah in 2012.
