CJ takes suo moto notice of Khuzdar mass graves, Muzaffargarh gang rape

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani has taken suo moto notice of mass graves discovered in Khuzdar and reported gang rape on the orders of Panchayat in Muzaffargarh.
Chief Justice has summoned the Inspector General (IG) Punjab to submit the report about alleged gang rape in Muzaffargarh on February 4, whereas the reports have been sought from IG Balochistan and Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar on the matter of discovery of mass graves.
Meanwhile, provincial interior department has formed an inquiry committee to probe the thirteen decomposed bodies found in the mass grave. A judge from Balochistan High Court will head the committee. The committee will submit its findings with a month.
Out of thirteen decomposed bodies, three have been identified as Qadir Baksh and siblings Naseer Baloch and Umar Baloch. All three belonged to Awaran and went missing on August 30 and October 4, 2013.
Chief Justice took the suo moto notice also of the alleged gang rape of 40-year-old woman on the orders of local Panchayat as was reported by media. The IG Punjab is ordered to submit a report regarding the incident on February 4. The court has also sought the developments carried out by the police regarding the case. A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will hear the suo moto case.
