Treason trial: Govt finalizes charge sheet against Musharraf
A formal complaint to try Musharraf under Article 6 will be filed in a special court.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has finalized the charge sheet against former president Pervez Musharraf to try him under Article 6 of the Constitution.
According to Dunya TV sources, the charge sheet, comprising nine pages, pressed five charges including November 3 emergency, detention of superior judges and implementation of PCO against Musharraf.
The federation will show the details of his orders as proof in the court.
A formal complaint will be filed in a special court earlier setup to try Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution. The government has not mentioned any co-accused in the charge sheet.
The interior secretary will act as the complainant and authorise the FIA DG to file the complaint, the sources added.
Earlier, a three-member special court including Justice Faisal Arab of the Sindh High Court, Justice Tahira Safdar of the Balochistan High Court and Justice Yawar Ali of Lahore High Court was constituted by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at the request of the government under the Criminal Law Amendment (Special Court) Act 1976.
