Mohmand Agency: Peace committee head killed in bomb explosion
Head of peace committee Malik Muhammad Akbar killed while 8 others sustained injuries in a remote control bomb explosion in Mohmand Agency on Thursday. In Khawai Zai district, Muhammad Akbar was on his way back to home when the remote control bomb, which was planted near the roadside, hit his car. He was killed on the spot while his eight companions got injured. Their car was also completely destroyed in the blast. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban has claimed the responsibility of the blast. In Khawai Zai, Malik Muhammad Ajmal, the previous head of the peace committee was also murdered six months ago by the extremists. Malik Muhammad Ajmal and Malik Muhammad Akbar were relatives. More than 120 tribesmen and peace committee members have already been murdered in the area. Malik Muhammad Akbar caught the spokesmen of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban and handed him over to the security forces.
