Islamabad standoff: Sikander's condition improving, says doctor
Dr Khawaja said the blood pressure and mental condition of Sikandar is normal.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The condition of Malik Sikandar, the accused who sustained bullet injuries during the Islamabad standoff operation, is improving, said Dr Waseem Khawaja on Sunday.
Doctor at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Dr Waseem Khawja said ‘the tube has been removed from the lungs of Sikandar and there was no bleeding now.
Dr Khawaja said the blood pressure and mental condition of Sikandar is normal, adding he was talking and taking food as well, however, the accused was unable to walk due to fracture.
He further said Sikandar can be shifted on stretcher as he was even unable to sit on wheelchair.
Earlier, police arrested Mubeen Khan, the alleged accomplice of Sikandar, from Hafizabad on Saturday.
Mubeen Khan was reported to have accompanied Sikandar when he was bringing weapons from Kasur.
The accused was reported to be involved in several suspicious activities and has links in the tribal areas.
He also came to Constitution Avenue in Islamabad on August 15 when an armed man Sikandar accompanied with a woman and two children, whom he claimed were his wife and children, had driven into the middle of the avenue where he fired on the police and started a stand off.
Mubeen Khan is a taxi driver and a resident of Islampura in the area of Hafizabad. His father, Late Lal Khan, was a constable and his brother works for the police.
Islamabad police has also arrested another accomplice of Sikandar named Ubaidullah from Hafizabad who was later transferred to an unknown place.
