Ch Sarwar takes oath as 35th Governor of Punjab
Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar sworn in as Governor Punjab at the Governor House.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar sworn in as 35th Governor of the Punjab at the Governor House today (Monday).
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Umar Ata Bandial, administered the oath of office to the newly appointed governor.
Earlier, the Governor House spokesperson said that Ch Muhammad Sarwar was a non-controversial figure and had rendered valuable services for Pakistan on social, political, economic and diplomatic fronts.
Ch Sarwar is a loyal Pakistani who surrendered British citizenship besides playing a significant role in strengthening ties between Pakistan and Britain as a member of the British Parliament.
Chaudhry Sarwar had been elected thrice as the member of the British Parliament from Glasgow city while in the recent elections in United Kingdom, his son Anas Sarwar won from this seat.
Having served as Labour Party Member of Parliament in Glasgow for 13 years, Sarwar comes with the experience of legislation besides having been a successful businessman.
Meanwhile, Mr Sarwar said if he finds himself unable to deliver, then he will resign from the post.
