UK police investigating complaints against Altaf
British HC says notice should be taken on Altaf’s statement inciting violence.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - British High Commissioner Adam Thomson Wednesday said that action against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain for his statements could not be ruled out.
The London metropolitan police was investigating complaints by hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said here during a news conference on Wednesday.
Thomson said there was a flood of complaints followed to London Metropolitan Police from Britain, Pakistan and all over the world as thousands people lodged their complaints against Altaf Hussain’s controversial statements.
Thomson said that the London police were looking into the complaints and may take notice of it soon.
The High Commissioner said Pakistani government should take serious notice of Altaf Hussaun statement as in Britain there are strict laws against those who provoke violence and hatred.
He said Altaf Hussain could be imprisoned if allegation against him proven added that handing over him to Pakistan was difficult but not possible.
It is worth mentioning that MQM on Thursday had stated that doctors had advised bed rest to Altaf Hussain.
