Lal Masjid operation was purely militaristic: Ex PM
Ex prime minister Showkat Aziz said that there was no option but military operation.
LONDON (Dunya News):-While recording his statement to the Lal Masjid Commission at Pakistani embassy in London, ex Prime Minister Showkat Aziz said that there was no option sole military operation as all the other options had proved fruitless in this regard.
He told to the commission that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Tariq Azeem and Aijazul Haque were holding dialogue with Lal Masjid administration for peace but unfortunately all their endeavours proved failure to bring the situation on track.
He said that the interior ministry had issued no notice regarding military operation.
Former minister made it clear that the aforesaid operation was absolutely a military operation.
Replying a query regarding quality of the ammunition used during Lal Masjid Operation, he said that neither he is expert of arms nor has a skill in security issues.
