Protests held against Joseph Town tragedy across country
The protesters demanded to ensure full security to their homes and places of worship.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Several protests have been held across the country against the ransacking and burning of Christian homes in Joseph Town.
In Lahore, the protestors chanted slogans against the provincial government, administration, police and blocked the Ferozepur road. Protestors also pelted the Metro buses and police with stones. Meanwhile, police used aerial firing and baton charging to disperse the protestors.

The Christian fraternity burnt tires and blocked roads in Gujranwala and Mandi Bahuaddin. Meanwhile, the Shahrah-e-Faisal was blocked in Karachi by angry protesters. The Mutahhida Qaumi Movement (MQM) also staged a protest outside Karachi press club against the burning of homes. A protest was also reported outside press club in Sukkur.
The protesters demanded to immediately arrest the miscreants.
On March 9, over 100 homes of the Christian community were ransacked and set on fire by an angry mob over alleged blasphemy committed by Sawan Masih.
Meanwhile over 100 people allegedly involved in the incident had been arrested from different areas of Lahore. According to DIG Operations Rai Tahir, more raids will be conducted to arrest others involved.
