D-8 Commission meets in Islamabad today
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf is expected to inaugurate the event.
The two-day meeting of the Commission of eight developing countries begins in Islamabad on Monday for preparation of the summit to be held on Thursday.
The D-8 consists of Pakistan‚ Bangladesh‚ Egypt‚ Indonesia‚ Iran‚ Malaysia‚ Nigeria‚ Pakistan and Turkey.
A four-day trade exhibition in connection with D-Eight Summit will also begin today. It will focus on promoting trade among member countries.

Meanwhile‚ two-day trade talks among member states will also begin in Islamabad today.
Secretary Trade Development Authority‚ Abdul Kabir told media that leaders and representatives from member states will participate in these events‚ aimed at projecting Pakistan as a business and investment destination‚ while underscoring the linkage of democracy with peace and development.
He said efforts will be made to persuade Egypt and Bangladesh to approve Preferential Trade Agreement.
Abdul Kabir said the D-8 Summit will discuss ways to enhance their share from current five to fifteen percent of international trade.
