Dr Sher Afgan Niazi laid to rest

Niazi was suffering from liver cancer and was in coma for the last few days.

Funeral prayer of the former federal minister, Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi was offered in Mianwali on Friday morning, Dunya News reported.A large number of people including the political and social personalities attended the funeral prayer.Later, he was laid to rest at graveyard of Darbar Zakaria Sultan.Sher Afgan Niazi had been elected to the National Assembly as a member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in 2002 and had later joined Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q). He had been twice elected as an member of the provincial assembly (MPA).On 18th February, 2008, he lost the general election to an independent candidate, Humair Hayat Khan Rokhri.Afterwards, Niazi joined former president Pervez Musharraf s newly formed political party, the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). However, he later resigned from the party following differences with the leadership.
