Court reserves verdict on Sehba Musharrafs petitions

The Anti-Terrorism Special Court of Rawalpindi on Saturday reserved its judgment on two petitions filed by Sehba Musharraf against freezing of bank accounts and seizing property.The both petitions filed by Pervez Musharraf’s wife, Sehba Musharraf were heard at the same hearing.During case proceeding, Sehba Musharraf’s lawyer told court that that an inquiry is always required before freezing the account of the accused. However, no inquiry was carried out in this regard.The FIA prosecutor, Chaudhry Zulfiqar said in his evidence that Sehba Musharraf possesses no personal income and that the joint accounts contained mainly Pervez Musharraf’s money.He added that Musharraf is an absconder and no one may submit a request to restore his accounts until he himself returns to Pakistan.Also, he informed the court that out of 11 accounts that were frozen, seven were personal accounts belonging to Musharraf.Later, the court reserved its judgment in the case and adjourned the hearing till October 3.
