Musharrafs trial impossible without resolution: Rehman
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that trial against former president Musharraf was impossible without passing a resolution in the Parliament. Coming back to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia, he denied the news of his meeting with Musharraf in Saudi Arabia. Rehman Malik said that the government had a belief on politics of consensus instead of revenge and the issue of Musharrafs trial was totally based on national consensus. During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Rehman Malik had meeting with King Shah Abdullah, Interior Minister and Assistant Interior Minister prince Mohammad Bin-e-Naif and Saudi intelligence chief prince Muqaran Bin-e-Abdul Aziz in which in which they condemned the suicide attack on Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz. Rehman Malik discussed matters of mutual interest, intelligence sharing and cooperation in security fields. He also raised the issue of Pakistanis arrested in drug trafficking case. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday gave a similar statement in which he said that only the Parliament would decide about the fate of Musharrafs trial through a resolution.
