CJP angry over IG FC's press conference

CJ expressed resentment over the press conference recently held by IG FC Obaidullah Khan Khattak.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry on Monday resumed the hearing into a case pertaining to Balochistan law and order situation and enforced abductions in the province.The chief justice expressed displeasure over Inspector General Frontier Corps press conference saying that it was in violation of the court order and added that a General has no business to hold a press conference.He also said that court would forward the matter to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and court may summon him over the issue.“We will summon General Kayani and ask is country could be ruled like this.” CJP said.Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry further stated that every other case was filed against the FC and that corpses come out of those who provide evidence against them.Drawing the attention of the agencies’ lawyer, Raja Irshad, Chief Justice said that hold trial of the accused but don’t murder them.Justice Jawad said that we are not the enemy of the agencies but they must perform their duty.
