New political crisis emerged after PMs conviction: experts

Constitutional exerts says that a new political crisis has emerged after PM Gilani is convicted.

Attorney General Irfan Qadir said that the decision of PM conviction is unconstitutional and illegal. If National Assembly doesn’t take it serious, the matter will be over, he said. Renowned legal expert SM Zafer said that the penalty awarded to the PM is trifle but the PM should morally resign from his office. Ex-Law Minister Senator Babar Awan said that National Assembly Speaker is the sole authority to declare the PM incompetent.Barrister Shahid Jamil said that if the NA Speaker doesn’t declare the PM incompetent, the Opposition would make hue and cry and raise the issue on national level. Constitutional exerts says that a new political crisis has emerged after PM Gilani is convicted. Supreme Court Bar’s ex-president Asima Jahangir said that PM Gilani is the first person who has been congratulated after conviction. She said that she saluted to the independence of judiciary.
