Use of e-voting machines will be expensive: Election commissioner

Electronic voting machines will be used during by-elections in Multan on trial basis.

However, acting chief election commissioner Justice Shakirullah Jaan said it will not be possible to use electronic voting machines during general elections due to high operating cost.Addressing media at circuit house in Dera Ghazi Khan, chief election commissioner said that a delay was made by NADRA for the preparation of computerized voter lists. However, voter lists will be completed in the coming month.He said election commission has completed all arrangements to conduct general elections even if they are held before time.
