Tense situation continues in Gilgit as security forces arrest more than 100 suspects.

Situation remains tense as security forces have arrested more than 100 suspected people during overnight patrolling in the streets of Gilgit following the recent spate of violence.Deserted roads were seen as traffic remained at a standstill. Residents also complained of running short of food items in their homes due to the imposition of curfew.While more military troops were deployed in Skardu, security forces took non-locals into their custody.A complete shutter down strike is being observed in Chilas as all government and private businesses remain shut.Demonstrators continue their protest in Skardu, Chilas and other areas for the recovery of abducted people.The Tuesdays violent incidence killed 14 people and injured 50 others.
