Colombia: Shakira lays foundation for childrens school

The Colombian artist Shakira laid the foundation stone of a school for poor children, in Cartagena.

The mega-school will be constructed by, Barefoot Foundation, a non-profit organisation created by Shakira. The school will have a capacity of 1,500 students but it would indirectly benefit 50,000 people living in the region. When the pop artist arrived at Cartagena to lay the foundation stone, she was greeted by a large number of children and adults. The children also preformed her hit song ‘Waka Waka.’ This was the sixth education project of the charity led by Shakira.
