Tom Alter diagnosed with cancer
The man had interviewed Sachin Tendulkar for the first time for television
(Web Desk) – Tom Alter, a veteran theatre, film and television actor and former sports journalist has been diagnosed with cancer, timesofindia.com reported on Monday.
Alter, who is a gold medalist from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune has worked in more than 300 films and several telly shows.
The man interviewed Sachin Tendulkar for the first time for television before he made his debut for India.
Alter was a sports journalist from late 1980s to early 1990s. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2008 by the government of India for his contribution to the field of cinema and arts.
He is suffering of a relapse of a squamous cell carcinoma and is undergoing treatment at Saifee Hospital of Mumbai, according to the Times of India.
