Coke Studio releases National Anthem rendition for season 10

The TV music series will release its first episode on August 11

Lahore (Dunya New) - As Pakistan reaches the milestone of 70 years of independence, Coke Studio has released a rendition of National Anthem which has contribution from all 40 singers. The selection of National Anthem as opening song for Coke Studio reminisces with the ‘Aye Watan Kay Sajeelay Jawano’ of the Coke Studio’s Season 9. This year also marks the completion of decade as Coke Studio entered the tenth season of the music scene, providing platform to singers, who helped set a trend with the fusion of local and international music.

Creating a mighty legacy, Coke Studio has managed to single-handedly bring back to life a dying industry and given it a new soul. Since last three years, Coke Studio has provided a song prior to the launch of its respective season, which reminds the masses about patriotic songs and sets the tone for large audience to enjoy the different versions of music produced.

Coke Studio has had a staggering decade of creating music; from reviving old musical hits, to renewing interest in genres like qawali and folk. The show has rejuvenated many old gems either renewing love for old favorites or introducing these to unacquainted audiences.

Rohail Hyatt was the executive producer of the first seven seasons, a mantle which was taken up by Strings band. ‘Sohni Dharti’ from Season 8 was both hugely applauded and appreciated.

Strings shared their thoughts regarding their vision: “By bringing together some of the biggest names in Pakistan’s music industry to sing our revered National Anthem, we hope to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and social consciousness in the heart of every Pakistani. This is more significantnow than ever, as we are marking seventy years of our independence.”

The first episode of season 10 will air on August 11.
