Second death anniversary of 'desert's nightingale' Reshma today

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The second death anniversary of legendary folk singer, Reshma is being observed all across the country today (Tuesday).

According to details, Quran Khawani was held for the peace of departed soul at her residence in Lahore.

Reshma was born in Bikaner s village Loha in Rajasthan to a Gypsy family in 1947. Reshma was best known for her Punjabi folk songs and has sung for both Pakistani and Indian film industries. The singer has got fame after Lambi Judai and Akhian nu rehn day songs.

Nightingale of the desert has also sung scores of songs for Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television and was awarded with Sitara-i-Imtiaz for her best performance.
