Mahesh Bhatt has revealed that the plot of Raaz 3 bears similarities to Bipasha Basu's real life.

The actress takes on the role of a fading Bollywood star who performs black magic to destroy a younger rival.Bhatt told The Times of India: The need for Bollywood stories is enormous, people are enchanted with it.There is a reality of the industry that we know. We have given the film a horror idiom by including black magic. The story is very much true.It also coincides with Bipasha Basus life where she is feeling the breath of extinction as the younger girls have come in who may elbow her out.Today Bipasha is not as safe as she was ten years ago when she came into the industry.The supernatural thriller also stars Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi, who has previously worked with Basu in Jism.In July, Basu was reportedly having nightmares on the set of Raaz 3 because the film subject is so frightening.The star, who makes her Hollywood debut opposite Josh Harnett in Singularity, recently said that she did not see language as a barrier to success.
