Finland: Frenchman wins 2009 air guitar world championships
Acrobatic Frenchman Sylvaine Quimene rocked his way to victory at the 14th Air Guitar World Championship in Oulu in northern Finland. The message of the competition was: 'World peace - while you are rocking your air guitar your hand can't hold a gun.' Contestants from all over the globe including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Romania flew in for the special event in this far away town near the Arctic Circle where August evenings are still light. Air guitaring requires a lot of a practice and endurance even though the guitarist only perform for one minute per round.
